Udemy Coupon Not Working? 8 Fixes to Try
Udemy still showing full price or saying the coupon is invalid? Here are the eight most common causes and how to fix each one.

You click a free course, land on Udemy, and the page still shows the full price or tells you the coupon is invalid. It happens to everyone who uses coupons, and there are only a handful of possible causes. Work through this list from the top; the first two account for the large majority of failures.
1. The coupon has expired
Free coupons are valid for only a few days after the instructor creates them. A code that was shared widely last week is very likely dead today.
Fix: there is nothing to repair here. Look for a newer coupon for the same course, or pick a fresher one from the latest free Udemy courses. On our course pages, the "Coupon posted" time tells you how old a code is.
2. All the free seats are taken
Each free coupon has a limited number of redemptions. For a popular course they can run out within hours, even though the coupon has not reached its expiry date. Udemy shows the same kind of error either way.
Fix: move faster next time. Checking for new coupons daily, or getting them by email, is the only real remedy.
3. You are already enrolled
If the course is already in your library, perhaps from an earlier coupon, Udemy will not apply a new one and the page may look confusing.
Fix: search for the course under My learning in your Udemy account before trying again.
4. You are in the mobile app
Coupon links often do not carry over into the Udemy app, and on some devices the app cannot apply coupon codes at checkout at all because purchases go through the app store.
Fix: open the coupon link in a web browser, on your phone or computer, and enroll there. The course will appear in the app afterwards.
5. The code was lost from the link
A coupon lives in the last part of the address: ?couponCode=THECODE. Some apps, redirects and link shorteners drop it, and you arrive at the normal full-price page.
Fix: check the address bar. If the code is missing, copy it from our course page and either paste it into the coupon box on Udemy's course page or add it to the end of the address yourself.
6. You are signed in to a work or school account
Udemy Business accounts, the kind provided by an employer or university, work as a subscription and do not accept marketplace coupons.
Fix: sign out and sign in with a personal Udemy account, then open the coupon link again.
7. An extension or stale session is getting in the way
Ad blockers, privacy extensions and old cookies occasionally stop the coupon from being applied, or leave an out-of-date price on the page.
Fix: open the link in a private or incognito window, sign in to Udemy and try again. If that works, an extension or cached data was the cause.
8. It is the wrong course or a mistyped code
A coupon works for exactly one course. Instructors often have several courses with similar titles, and a code for one will not work on another. Codes typed by hand are also easy to get wrong.
Fix: copy and paste the code instead of typing it, without spaces before or after, and make sure the course title on Udemy matches the one the coupon was listed for.
The one check that prevents surprises
Whatever a coupon site says, including this one, the final word is Udemy's checkout. Before you confirm, look at the total. If it shows a price other than $0, the coupon did not apply and you should stop there rather than pay by accident.
If none of this works
Then the coupon is gone, and that is normal: free coupons are designed to be scarce. New ones are created every day, often for the same course a few weeks later. Have a look at what is available now by category, and read how Udemy coupons work if you would like to understand the limits behind all this.
